Come and join us to celebrate Te Tau Hou Māori, The Māori New Year at the Paihia waterfront this Puanga Matariki!

The main event starts Friday 24 June at 4pm with music, kapahaka, food stalls and a fantastic light and fireworks display along the Paihia waterfront from 7pm.

Rug up, bring the whole whanau and get together to acknowledge this very special and significant time and celebrate the first Matariki public holiday!

NB: The Tiki Taane concert on Sat 25 June is ticketed, all other events are FREE!

AND THERE'S MORE!!

A packed schedule of events is planned across the whole weekend on Paihia Village Green with free daytime activities from 10am – 3pm on Friday and Saturday, including arts and crafts, music and interactive displays.

Waitangi Marae and Waitangi Treaty Grounds have amazing programme, including a free Matariki Open Day at the Treaty Grounds on Sun 26 June - so much to see, do and experience!

Come out and support the huge mahi put in across the community!
