Te Matua Ngahere (The Father of the Forest) is estimated to be between 2,500 and 3,000 years old, with a girth of 16 metres, while The Four Sisters are a graceful collection of kauri that have grown close together in sibling harmony.

Our friendly guides will regale you with local legends and point out historical points of interest as we explore the mysterious mangrove forest, Haruru waterfalls and the deserted Motumaire Island.

Rent a Boat / Bike
What better way to spend a day in the Bay of Islands than on the water! Enjoy a days fishing on our self drive boats or try out our small and easy to sail catamarans. If you’ve never tried sailing before we can book you a short lesson to get you going. We’ve also got row boats, with or without outboards which are ideal for fishing. The self-drive boat is 15ft and powered by a 50hp Mercury two stroke outboard and is available for 1/2 day, full day and longer hires. Ideal for fishing or cruising for a picnic or BBQ with friends and family. Safety gear includes a mobile/cell phone waterproof bag, life jackets and an emergency auxiliary outboard. All included in our hire price.
Early evening: $58 Cruise and Kayak with waterfalls. Departs 4.30 returning 7pm. Cruise our local island coastline, then up a mangrove river to where the sea meets a waterfall. Great photos, sunsets & more.

Volcano Ride – Experienced. This is a beautiful ride, from the rim of the volcano you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the Pacific ocean and the Bay of Islands. On the way back enjoy a refreshing stop in the ocean, rides are about 2.5 hrs. Sunset Ride – Experienced. On this unforgettable adventure you will reach the volcano in time for sunset, share a sundowner picnic whilst taking in the fantastic views.

We can pick you up in Paihia and take you to Kaikohe, where we fit you out with bike and helmet drop you off at the start of the trail and pick you up at the end or you can come directly to our Base at 88 Te Pua Road Kaikohe. You set the pace.

Our New Zealand designed electric bikes mean you can go the extra mile when the muscle fatigue kicks in, and with some peddling assistance by you, your bike’s charge will last a full day.
