Major Tom II – Sport Fishing & Cruising
Major Tom II is a serious fishing boat with a fun crew! The boat is surveyed for Extreme Limits and The Three Kings, but is as much at home giving space and comfort to inshore snapper and kingfish anglers, as she is cruising in blue water to reward those who want marlin, broadbill swordfish, tuna, sharks and hapuka in the deep. Tea and coffee is supplied on all charters, full day sole charters include lunch, while cruising multiple day charters all food is supplies at a modest extra charge.

It is one of the most popular fishing, sailing and tourist destinations in the country, and has been renowned internationally for its big-game fishing since American angler and author Zane Grey publicized it in the 1930s calling it “the Anglers Eldorado”.
A charter fishing trip is the best way to see the natural beauty of the Bay of Islands, and enjoy some fantastic fishing too. And with prices from just $99 per person, it’s one of the best value ways to experience the Bay as well.We fish from the Cavalli Islands to the Poor Knights Islands, an area that includes Cape Brett and the famous ‘Hole in the Rock’. Join our daily fishing trips and you will have a personal fishing guide and a unique experience of the supreme places in the Bay of Islands. Target the tasty snappers or the big fighter – the kingfish.
All bait & tackle supplied, complimentary tea & coffee and toilets. Fish is filleted on board ready to bring home or to a restaurant – cook your catch! Snapper trips 4 hours, Kingfish 6 hours, both available as Shared or Private. A private charter, 4, 6 or 8 hours,gives you the full range of options of fishing or tourism or both. Prices: snapper is $880, private kingfish $1000 for 4 people, $150 per extra person, only 4 anglers at a time with live bait! Private 8 hours $1400.
Blue Sea Charters
Blue Sea Charters experienced skippers and crew take pride in looking after their clients. All vessels have complimentary tea & coffee, toilets, tuition if necessary and bait/tackle supplied. Fish is filleted to suit when you return from your trip. Snapper trips 4 hours, kingfish 6/7 hours.
It’s the best way to do exactly what you want. You can spend your time targeting the one species you want, or mix and match so you get to fish them all Tackle and bait supplied, or you can bring your own. Fish filleted upon request. You’ll find it means MORE FISHING – LESS HASSLE.
Get Reel is 10.8 Meters long and 3.1 meters wide, a large open fishing platform with a central island for seating and having easy assess to the bait station. There is a proper toilet with privacy. If you need a break from fishing there is a cabin area available. The boat is diesel powered and has 370 HP, so a top speed of 28knots and an ideal 20knots cruise speed. Tea and coffee is always available.
Based in Opua, gateway to the historic and beautiful Bay of Islands, Bucket List is one of New Zealand’s premier charter vessels. Accommodating intimate groups of up to 8 people overnight, or 28 guests for a day trip, we cater for a range of activities including sight seeing, fishing, diving, tramping, waterskiing and dolphin watching.

Iti Rangi is The Landing’s 8.5 metre vessel, built by Dickey Boats. Iti Rangi is available for fishing, sightseeing, or a leisurely explore of the Bay of Islands and comes with her own skipper – The Landing’s Brett Michalick.
You are welcome to provide your own food aboard Iti Rangi, or have The Landing’s chef Jackie put together a picnic. Pick up/ drop-off from The Landing jetty, or anywhere within the Bay of Islands.
