Departing 7.30 am Paihia and returning to Paihia approx. 6pm This uniquely spiritual place … here according to Maori history is where spirits begin their final journey to their ancestral land Hawaiki. Heading south a short hop to the immense sand dunes of Te Paki Stream – climb to the top the views are spellbinding, and if you are brave enough grab a sandboard and surf the dunes (not included in price). For the afternoon we work our way back to Paihia with a stop along the way to stretch and pass through some more coastal towns not passed in the morning! Back in time for a meal and possibly something cold to drink!

Dune Rider – Cape Reinga

Departing from Paihia at 07:15 am we make our way north through Doubtless Bay and onto the gateway to the far north at Awanui.  Depending on the tide of the day we drive (up or down) 70 km of the famous Ninety Mile Beach – enjoy breathtaking views that go on forever as you drive along this Highway of the North. Climb giant sand dunes at the Te Paki stream and toboggan back down. Arriving at Cape Reinga you enjoy magnificent sweeping views where the Tasman Sea and the Pacific Ocean meet. A delicious BBQ lunch is enjoyed at Tapotupotu Bay (included) , great photo stops and an informative commentary are provided by our very experienced drivers.
